Yoga

Space to breathe.

A considered yoga programme in Crouch End - depth over trend, taught by teachers who know their subject.

Yoga in Crouch End

Yoga here is taught with the same intention that runs through everything we do. Classes move slowly enough to be done well, with real attention to alignment, breath and presence rather than pace.

We teach a genuine range of styles, from strong and heated to slow and still, so there’s a way in whatever you’re after on the day – guided by teachers with deep training in the traditions North London takes seriously.

The yoga room with mats laid out, each with a cork block and bolster, in front of curtained windows

The Mat Room

A room that slows you down.

Warm underfoot, softly lit, quiet before anyone’s said a word. The Recentre Room is where our yoga lives – a space designed to lower your shoulders the moment you walk in.

Leave your shoes and your phone outside. Mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are all here; you bring nothing but yourself. In the heated classes, gentle infrared warmth fills the room without the heavy, airless feeling of a traditional hot studio.

Taught by teachers worth seeking out

We're careful about who teaches here. It's the part we think about most.

The mat room

Our signature practice

The Reset.

If you do one class in the mat room, make it this one. The Reset is our own curated yoga sequence of postures, designed to be accessible, explorative, and inclusive; a balance of movement and stillness, practised in gentle infrared heat.

Infrared warms you from the inside rather than heating the air, so it’s a softer, more breathable heat than a traditional hot room. You’ll work and you’ll sweat, and you’ll also spend a good while lying still. Most people come out slower and quieter than they went in.

No experience needed. It’s the same yoga sequence every time, which is part of why it works.

What a class is actually like

Arrive five minutes before. Ten on your first visit. Say hello at the desk, shoes and phone away, and find a space on the floor. Mats and props are already there.

Your teacher will settle the room, then guide you through, offering options the whole way so you can take more or less on any given day. Heated classes build warmth early. Slower classes stay low and quiet. However it goes, the last few minutes are always yours to rest.

Nothing is compulsory, and no one is looking at you. Yoga classes are led by experienced teachers to support you to recentre. People come to practice for different reasons; there will always be the opportunity to reset physically, mentally and energetically.

You don't need to be flexible

This is the question we get most, and the answer is no. You get flexible by doing it. That’s rather the order of things, and it applies to experience too. Nobody in the room started out knowing what they were doing.

Come to a beginner-friendly class like The Reset, Hatha, Slow Vinyasa, Yin yoga, tell your teacher it’s your first time and take it at your own pace.

Go deeper: workshops

Alongside the timetable we run regular workshops, ninety minutes to two and a half hours, with our own teachers and guests. Pranayama and yoga nidra, sound journeys and kirtan with live musicians, yin intensives, and Hello Handstand for anyone curious about going upside down.

Plunge

One roof, one membership

Yoga, then the plunge.

Yoga, reformer and a full Recovery Room under one roof, on one membership. Finish a warm class and go straight into the sauna and cold plunge. Practice and recovery, ten steps apart.

Yoga questions

I'm a complete beginner - is that OK?

More than OK. We run beginner-friendly and mixed-level classes where the teacher offers options throughout. Tell us it’s your first time when you book.

Do I need to be flexible?

No. Flexibility is something the practice builds over time – it’s never a requirement to walk in.

What are the heated classes like?

They use gentle infrared, which warms your body rather than the air – softer and more breathable than a traditional hot room. Expect to sweat; bring a towel and extra water.

What should I bring?

Just yourself. Mats, blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets are all here. Yoga is practised barefoot; wear something you can move and breathe in.

Can I combine yoga with reformer and recovery?

Absolutely — most members do, and one membership covers all three. Yoga for breath and stillness, reformer for strength, the Recovery Room to put it all back together.
